This is a brand new album from a group of anarcho-psycho-banjo dudes that disappeared about a decade ago. Maybe everyone knows that. I have no idea. I really liked their late 90s stuff, this has a good title and good cover and probably some good end-times post-rock – something we’re all likely in the mood for on the eve of the potential election of Mitt freaking Romney.
I assume everyone has some way of getting this…? Here it is on Spotify:
Awesome! I loved these guys in high school. I’m looking forward to this.
This album is terrible for anxiety! But also kind of inspiring. I was writing a paper while listening and the endless repetition kept pushing me forward! The repetitions kind of get in your brain and I had a much easier time rereading sentences over and over again until they were perfect. (by which I mean terrible, but the best I can do). Still, not really a pleasant experience.
Chaotic. It was appropriate as I was reading about the approach of Sandy. It’s a great sound representation of a disaster. It’s really cool that they can do it, but it’s not everyday listening. It makes me nervous… just like you, Whitney. Who’s next?
Great point! Like a storm, but mostly the anticipation of a storm. Like being in the eye the whole time. Maybe I could read this and read Emily Dickinson’s “I Heard a Fly Buzz” at the same time! I’ll ask Scott to be next.
Whit. Make a pick… ?
